Last week, a coworker handed me a film camera with a stuck advance lever and acted like it was a five-minute job. How do you deal with this?

Sounds like they've never tried fixing an old camera before lol. It's usually a full tear-down, not some quick tweak. People just don't get how fiddly that stuff is. Maybe just hand it back and say it needs a pro.

Some older ones just need a light seal replacement.

Ever notice how people think anything old is a simple fix? They see a vintage thing and assume it's just a loose screw, not a whole project.
