Update: switched from a 16 oz hammer to a 20 oz for framing and my forearm quit aching by day 3
I framed two garage walls in Albany last month with my old 16 oz and had to stop every 20 minutes to shake out my wrist. Borrowed a 20 oz smooth face from my lead and the extra weight did the driving for me instead of my arm doing all the work. Got the whole back wall sheathed in one afternoon with no ache that night, which never happens for me. Funny part is my grandpa's old hammer in the truck is a 20 oz and I always figured it was too heavy. What weight do you guys grab first for anything overhead?
