Why does nobody talk about the glue smell in a closed up house in winter? Had a job last week in Boise where the furnace kicked on and the whole place smelled like a chemical plant for two days.

Sounds like your neighbor was secretly melting action figures. Probably trying to get that Christmas smell just right. Hope you got out before the whole place turned into a toxic snow globe.

Was it just your unit or the whole building? My cousin lived in a complex off Division where the ancient baseboard heaters would kick on and you'd get that weird hot dust smell for weeks. It was like the building itself was cooking its wiring. Did you ever figure out if it was the heating system or something else?
