That $200 rotary brush I bought lasted 4 jobs before the motor died

Picked one of those fancy spinning rod kits from a supplier online, looked perfect for those heavy creosote jobs. First two houses went great, third one it started making a grinding noise, fourth one the motor just gave out completely. Called the company, they said the warranty only covers 30 days and I was at day 32. So now I'm back to my regular stiff bristle brush and honestly it does the same job, just takes me an extra 20 minutes per flue. Has anyone else had luck with a specific brand of rotary cleaner that actually holds up, or am I better off sticking with manual brushes for good?

You ever try just replacing the motor on those cheap units, or were you set on getting it fixed under warranty? I had a similar thing happen and found the gear box was the weak spot, not the motor itself. If you're handy at all, you can get a replacement motor off Amazon for like 30 bucks and it's a 20 minute swap. But honestly, for the price of these things, you're probably better off buying two cheaper ones and keeping one as backup. The stiff brush method is a pain, but it never quits on you. I'd stick with manual for now and only go back to rotary if you find a deal on a used commercial grade one.
