Shoutout to the guy at the Springfield swap meet who convinced me to ditch the tarp
For years I kept my 68 Camaro under one of those cheap blue tarps in the driveway because I thought it kept the rain off, and I figured that was good enough. A guy at the Springfield swap meet last October asked what I covered it with, and when I said a tarp he just shook his head and told me tarps trap moisture underneath and scratch the paint when the wind kicks them around. I switched to a fitted breathable cover about 2 months ago and pulled the tarp off to find rust freckles starting on the roof line, so he was dead right. Now I am looking at whether a carport is worth the $1,800 or if I should just rent a unit, has anyone gone one way and wished they had done the other?
