Drove 2 hours to a client's office in Denver for a kickoff and the receptionist said nobody works there anymore
Back in March I had a $4,500 logo and site package booked with a small HVAC company, and the guy confirmed our kickoff meeting the night prior by text, so I drove from Colorado Springs up to Denver the next morning. I got to the address, the suite was empty except for some stacked boxes, and the receptionist at the front desk said the company moved out two weeks ago and she had no idea where. I sent a invoice for the 50 percent deposit anyway since the contract had a kill fee, got paid 6 weeks later after a certified letter, and now I ask new clients for a 30 percent deposit before I drive anywhere, so what's your go to rule for out of town kickoffs?
