I finally stopped chasing a ghost client after my old boss gave me one rule back in 2019
She said if a client goes dark for 10 days on an active job, send one short email with your final invoice and move on, no third follow up. I ignored that for months on a $2,400 logo job in Denver and kept sending friendly check-ins into the void, which just made me feel worse. Now I'm curious what cutoff other people use, is 10 days too short or about right?
Get a good laugh at myself because I did the exact same thing on a $600 website fix, sent like six check-ins over two months to a guy who clearly ghosted me. Ten days sounds about right honestly, maybe even generous. Three follow ups is just you arguing with silence at that point. I wasted so much time checking my inbox for a reply that was never coming. Live and learn I guess.
