Showerthought: after my 11th client vanished this year, I started wondering if it's me or just the gig
I run a small design shop out of my apartment in Portland and I keep a spreadsheet of folks who stop answering emails. Hit 11 walkaways since January, which floored me, because the first two years I only lost maybe three total. The pattern is always the same: two or three good calls, a deposit talk, then silence for 3 weeks before I give up and mark them cold. My buddy who freelances in Denver says he sees the same thing and just stopped sending follow-ups after day 10. Does anyone here have a cutoff rule that actually works, or do you keep nudging till they block you?
