I spent 3 years never sending a late fee invoice until a client in Austin laughed at me on a call
I always rounded my hours down and never charged for revisions because I was scared of losing people. Last month a client in Austin actually laughed and said "you know I budgeted double this right?" and that was the moment it clicked that I was the problem. I went back through 14 old invoices and realized I had left about $4,200 on the table just from rounding down and eating revision time. So now I put late fees and revision limits right in the first email before any work starts. Anyone else have a client basically tell them they were undercharging themselves?
