Saw a stat last night that 78% of clients ghost after the third no-reply email.

Found it buried in a HubSpot report from 2023 and it hit me hard because I remember when folks would actually pick up the phone. Has anyone else noticed clients just vanishing more than they used to?

But is it really "ghosting" if they never asked for that 8th email in the first place?

And honestly, I ran into the same thing with my own email list for my cleaning business, @mason.drew. What worked for me was cutting back to just one weekly email with a short tip or a special offer, not a whole essay. The open rates went up because people knew they'd actually get something useful instead of another block of text they'd ignore.

Are we really sure the problem isn't just that we're sending junk that nobody wants to read? Maybe those 78% aren't "ghosting" so much as finally figuring out that the 8th email in a row offering them a free whitepaper isn't worth their time. If your emails are just noise, of course people are going to stop opening them. The real question is why we keep blaming clients instead of looking at the boring, copy-paste messages we're firing off.
