That "memory thing" line is gonna stick with me. It's the same reason people write down a grocery list even when they swear they'll remember. We're terrible at holding onto stuff in our heads, especially once feelings get mixed in. Contracts are just the notes we take when we don't trust our future selves to be honest. The Austin guy was basically saying the paper isn't for the other person, it's for you six months from now when you've forgotten what you even agreed to.
