That client who wanted 14 revisions on a single logo last month nearly broke me
I had this guy from a local bakery hire me for a simple logo refresh back in November. We agreed on 3 rounds of edits, but by round 8 he was still asking to see it in different shades of beige. He kept saying 'just one more tweak' and then would send a list of 5 new things to change. I finally had to set a hard deadline and say no more after 14 versions. Has anyone else had a client who literally couldn't stop messing with a design?

Had a similar situation with a non-profit last year where the director kept adding volunteers to the email chain. By week three there were like 12 people all weighing in on font choices and nobody could agree. One person would say "make it pop" and another would say "it's too loud" and I'm just sitting there like you guys hired me for a reason. The worst part was they never even used the final version because someone's cousin who "knows graphic design" whipped something up in Canva over a weekend. Idk maybe it's just me but sometimes clients want endless revisions because they don't actually know what they want in the first place. It's exhausting trying to read minds through email.

Nip it in the bud early. Get one decision maker on the chain and tell them everyone else filters through that person. Otherwise you're just herding cats for free.

We had 14 people on one Slack channel for a simple rebrand last year. 14. The requests were coming in from everyone. One guy wanted to see the logo in 6 different pastels. Another person said it needed to be "edgy" whatever that means. I finally told the project lead that if I got one more message from someone not on the approved list, I'd add a $200 revision fee per email. The requests dropped off real fast after that. It's not about being difficult, it's about protecting your time and your sanity. People will run all over you if you let them.
