Client asked me to 'quickly fix' something that took 6 weeks
Had a client in Phoenix who forwarded a bug report and said it should be a 20 minute patch, easy money. Turns out their old codebase had no comments and the issue was buried in 400 lines of nested conditionals. I quoted them 2 weeks upfront, they pushed back hard, but after I showed them the spaghetti they finally agreed. Has anyone else had a client downplay scope until you show them the actual mess?
