Old timer at the sharpening shop changed my feed rates
Brought in a worn out 2-flute end mill to a local shop in Cleveland last Tuesday and the guy behind the counter asked what speeds I was running. He said 'you're babying it, crank the RPM and let the chip load do the work' after looking at the edge wear pattern. Anyone else had a stranger's one-liner save them hours of trial and error?

Read a machinist forum thread where a guy swore his scrap rate dropped 40% after someone told him to stop running coolant on aluminum. Said the chip welding was actually his feed being too timid. Sometimes the fix sounds backwards until you try it.
