People keep ignoring the tool offset calibration at shift change
I walked into my machine at Precision Parts in Cleveland last Tuesday and found the last guy's offsets were off by 0.015 on the X axis. This is the third time this month I have caught it. Why can't people just run a quick test cut before they clock out? Has anyone else been dealing with this slack at their shop?

Luna, that line about the test cuts being welded into your coffee routine hit too close to home. I once forgot to zero out my machine after a shift and ended up coming back to a part that looked like my first attempt at welding without any practice. Makes me wonder if I should just tape a note to my thermos that says "check offsets first.

At this point I'm surprised my test cuts aren't welded into my morning coffee routine.

Bet you'd feel a lot different if they actually did get welded in... way harder to drink your coffee then.
