Warning: My French press shattered on a Thursday morning and I'm still mad about it

I got this nice double-walled glass French press as a gift maybe 8 months ago. It broke last Thursday when I was cleaning it with warm water (not even hot) and the glass just gave out. I spent $35 on a stainless steel one from a local kitchen shop and honestly it doesn't steep as well. Has anyone else had glass ones break out of nowhere or am I just unlucky?

Double walled glass ones seem to be hit or miss in my experience. I switched to a ceramic model after my last glass one cracked and it's been way more dependable, plus it keeps the heat better too.

Gotta disagree with you there honestly. My double walled glass one has been going strong for like three years now (knock on wood). Maybe it depends on the brand or something, but I can't give up the clarity of seeing the color of my tea.
