Hot take: I was bagging and boarding everything backwards for like 6 years
So I'm at Comic Kingdom in Chicago last month digging through a dollar bin and the owner, Ray, watches me pull a book and says "you know that's backwards right?" I had been putting the flap of the bag toward the front cover this whole time, so every time I slid a comic in the board was hitting the cover instead of the back. Ray showed me the flap goes in the back and the board goes right behind the book, and now nothing shifts around when I pull them off the shelf. Went home and re-did about 200 books from my long boxes and the difference in how they sit is night and day. Did anyone else learn this the hard way or was it just me?
the flap of the bag toward the front cover" yeah that was me too for years. Same thing happens with so many everyday tasks. You just do it the way you first saw it and never question it. Like people who load a dishwasher wrong their whole life or put the toilet paper roll on backwards. Nobody tells you because they assume you know. Then one person points it out and it feels so obvious. Ray did you a solid.
