I watched a guy go from never reading a comic to pulling a $200 key issue in 8 months

There's this guy at my local shop who started coming in last spring. Knew nothing, just liked the movie posters. He asked a lot of questions, listened to what the regulars recommended, and read one trade paperback a week. Fast forward to last Saturday, he grabbed a first printing of a Silver Surfer issue off the wall before anyone else noticed it. Not sure if it's beginners luck or just paying attention, but has anyone else seen a newbie outpace the veterans like that?

Actually that book is a first printing but it's not a key issue.

Sold one of those last year and had the same issue (people kept calling it a key for some reason). Just gotta know your market, @carr.luna, and stick to the facts when you're listing it.

Wait, you're telling me people actually called a book a "key" when it clearly isn't one? That's wild to me, @kimblack. How do you even get that wrong when the facts are right there in the listing? I guess some folks just see a word and run with it without checking the details first. It's like they think every old book is a major milestone issue or something. You're totally right though, you just gotta be firm and correct them before they spread that nonsense around.
