My expensive omnibus got water damage at a beach house rental

Last June I brought my $180 Dark Knight omnibus to a beach rental in Destin, Florida for a weekend read. I set it on the deck table while I grabbed a drink, and a sudden storm soaked it before I could get inside. The pages wrinkled and the cover warped badly, so I tried the freezer trick plus a fan for 3 days. It helped a little, but the binding started to crack when I opened it, so now it's just a shelf piece. Has anyone else tried salvaging a wrecked book with something like a dehydrator or pressing method that actually works?
