That guy at the convention who read a book instead of buying one
Last year at the big con in Indianapolis, I saw this older dude camped out on the floor next to the dollar bins, ignoring all the chaos and just reading an old Uncanny X-Men issue, like issue #137 or something. I asked him if he was hunting for a specific back issue, and he just shrugged and said, "Nah, I already own it, I just like re-reading this one on the floor where nobody bugs me." It hit me that we're all so busy chasing variants and grading slabs, we forget the actual hobby is just sitting and enjoying the pages. Do you guys ever pick a random issue from your own collection just to read somewhere weird, or am I overthinking the whole thing?

Man, that guy's basically treating the convention floor like his living room, what's the point of hauling boxes of books across town just to read one you already got at home? I mean, isn't half the fun of a con the hunt, the bustle, the feeling of scoring something new, sitting on a dirty floor feels less like a hobby and more like a nap.
