Tried joining a comic book discussion group on Facebook and got yelled at for not knowing the exact shade of green on Swamp Thing's 1984 cover

I figured it'd be a chill place to talk about Alan Moore runs, but man, those guys treat variant covers like they're grading my real estate contracts, and now I just stick to lurking on Reddit where nobody cares if I call John Constantine's coat beige instead of tan.

Wait, but isn't that kind of on you for walking into a comic book group and not knowing basic stuff? 1984 Swamp Thing is pretty iconic, I can see why they'd be annoyed if you're acting like you know Alan Moore but can't tell dark green from olive green.

Man this reminds me of what happened to my buddy Ryan. He joined a Warhammer 40k lore group thinking it'd be casual and asked which chapter had the coolest looking paint scheme. Some guy wrote him a whole essay about how he was disrespecting the Horus Heresy by focusing on aesthetics over lore. Ryan just wanted someone to tell him Ultramarines or Blood Angels lol.
