Warning: What started as a solo comic sort became a group project
I decided to finally sort through my old comic boxes last weekend. It was just supposed to be a solo project to see what I had. I posted a pic of my mess on a fan forum, thinking nothing of it. But then other fans started chiming in with tips and their own stories. One guy even helped me name a rare variant I didn't know I owned. We ended up having a whole thread about keeping comics safe, and it felt awesome. I've always been a lone collector, but this gave me a feeling of fitting in. Now I'm planning to meet up with some local fans from the thread, which is a big win for me.

Wait, you had a rare variant just sitting in your box and didn't even know? That's insane. I would be losing my mind over that find. It's so cool how posting one dumb picture turned into all of that. Really happy for you, meeting up with people from online can be scary but it sounds like it worked out great.

Isn't it wild how life works sometimes? Having a rare item just sitting there is INSANE luck. Posting one dumb picture can literally change everything. Meeting people from online IS scary but when it goes well it feels so good. This whole thing proves the internet can bring real people together. It makes me want to dig through my own old stuff now.

That dumb picture thing has me curious if @nora_miller44 will uncover something stranger in her own digging.
