Pro tip: I thought the 3 minute safety stop on shallow air work was a waste, now I'm not so sure
Did a month of harbor jobs in Duluth last summer at 25 to 30 feet and the sup wanted a 3 minute stop on every dive even though tables said it wasn't needed. I figured it was just company covering their ass, but two guys on the crew had been bent before and swore the stop made their joints feel better after a long day of up and down. Now half the crew says it's pointless and slows the job down, the other half won't skip it. Where's everyone land on this? Do you do a stop no matter what depth, or only when the tables say so?
