At the community tech fair, a robot waiter baptized my new sneakers with soda

Yeah, the "locked onto your shoes" thing happens. My old robot vacuum used to hate my sneakers and would push them around the house.

Vent: Sunrise runs used to be a no-go, but one early morning by the lake made me a believer.

Please, that runner's high won't last til noon.

Update: My keychain shop sat empty for half a year before getting noticed.

Six months without orders for handmade keychains? That's pretty standard for starting out online. I mean, it's a side project, not a Fortune 500 company launch. My cousin tried selling candles and it took her like eight months to get her first sale. She just kept making them for fun while working her regular job. The whole 'almost gave up' thing seems a bit extra when it's just keychains. If you enjoy it, keep going, but don't act like it's some huge crisis.

Rewatching some 90s sitcoms and the pacing feels so slow compared to now.

Think about why some people can't stand old sitcoms these days. You say both styles have their place, @hunt.jennifer, but does that mean we should just shrug when the pace feels boring? What if the rhythm from back then doesn't grab viewers now? I've tried to watch classics and the pauses are so long I lose focus. That kills the enjoyment because I miss the jokes, so pace really does affect how much fun a show is. Isn't the whole point of enjoying something that it holds your attention, not just that it exists from a different time?
