Rant: everyone says you need a full face mask for murky zero vis work, and one job in Mobile Bay changed my mind
Everyone in this trade keeps saying a full face mask is the only way to go when the water turns to chocolate, but I ran a 6 week pipeline inspection job in Mobile Bay with a standard hard hat setup and a cheap backup light strapped to my wrist. My dive buddy kept losing his fancy full face rig to fog and seal leaks while I just went by feel on the flange bolts, 14 of them, same as always. The vis was maybe 8 inches and I finished each inspection about 4 minutes faster than him. Anyone else find that keeping it simple beats the gear everyone swears by?
