Spent $340 on a used band mask that flooded every single dive, so now I'm wondering if used gear is ever worth it
Trying to figure out if I got unlucky or if buying a used band mask online is just a bad move in general, since some guys swear by it and others say new is the only way.

Man come on, a mask flooding is usually a fit problem, not a gear problem. Even brand new masks leak if the skirt doesnt seal right on your face, and a used one might just need a new strap or some silicone grease on the frame. $340 is a lot to drop on something you didnt try on first though, thats the real issue here, not used vs new. Plenty of guys dive used masks for years without a problem, so one bad buy doesnt mean the whole thing is a scam.
