TIL a diver in Galveston showed me the trick of taping a flashlight to my helmet instead of holding it
Back when I did my first inland dive in 2019, I held my primary light in my hand the whole time, which meant only one hand for the job. Last week a guy named Ray on a barge near Galveston showed me how he tapes a small backup flashlight to the side of his helmet with electrical tape. He said he's been doing it for 11 years and has never had one come loose. The difference is huge. Now I can use both hands for bolting and still see what I'm doing. Anyone else have a low-tech fix like this that just works?
