Blew $340 on a power screed I used exactly one time on a 12x20 slab
Saw a guy on YouTube make it look like butter so I ordered one, and on my first pour in Tucson last month the thing dug trenches and left me hand floating behind it all day anyway. My old magnesium float and a straightedge would've beat it, plus the $340 would've covered a nice dinner and a new pair of kneepads. Anyone got a power screed that actually paid off, or did I just buy a $340 conversation piece for the truck bed?
Read somewhere that power screeds only really shine on wide pours where you've got a guy on each end and a good slump, otherwise they just fight you. My buddy runs one on 30 foot commercial slabs and swears by it, but he tried it on a small driveway once and said it was a waste of time. Sounds like the tool wasn't the problem, the pour size was.
