Power trowel blades, cheap vs premium, who's right?
Spent $380 on a set of premium blades last month and they wore out in 3 weeks on a warehouse slab in Denver. My buddy swears by the $120 economy ones, says they last just as long if you keep the pan wet. Am I wasting money or did I get a bad batch?

That wet pan trick affects the wear way more than people give it credit for, but it only gets you so far on a big slab like that. The cheap ones will burn up fast if the mix is dry or you're running high RPMs, same as the premium ones. Sounds like you got a bad batch or the slab had some grit in it that acted like sandpaper, that'll eat any blade no matter the price. Seen guys run $100 blades for months on small residential jobs, then kill $400 ones in a week on a big commercial pour. The real question is what the surface prep was like before you even started floating.
