My big lightbulb moment about burner plots came at 2 AM
I used to spend days layering fake evidence into my conspiracy timelines, thinking more detail meant more believability. Then last Tuesday I watched a skeptic tear apart my whole theory in a chat because one tiny date on a grainy PDF was off by a year. It hit me that I was so busy adding noise I never checked my own foundation. Anyone else realize their research habits were backwards only after someone else found the crack first?
Did you ever go back and check the stuff you built all that on top of, or was the whole thing pretty much dead once that date fell apart? I learned the hard way to write my base facts on a note card first and pin it up, then anything I add has to match that card. Sounds dumb but it saved me from wasting weeks on stuff that fell over from one bad number.
