Vent: That guy at the coffee shop who tried to sell me on chemtrails

I was in line at a shop in Portland last Tuesday and this dude in a foil hat-looking beanie starts telling me the white lines in the sky are actually mind control hormones... I asked him why my allergies still act up every spring if it's all a plot and he just stared at me. Made me wonder if people just enjoy the feeling of being in on a secret more than the facts. Has anyone else had a random stranger try to recruit them into a theory over a latte?

Mind control hormones" ... really? That's what he went with? I almost dropped my oat milk latte when I read that. How do you even look a barista in the eye after saying that out loud? Makes me wonder if these folks ever stop to think about how ridiculous they sound. Sorry you had to deal with that, Portland gets some strange ones sometimes.

Lost count of how many times I've heard that one at bonfires here.
