Found a force majeure clause that didn't cover the snow storm we had in Denver
A blizzard shut down my supplier for 10 days and the contract said I was still on the hook for delays. Spent 3 hours rewriting it to cover weather and now I sleep better at night. Anyone else had to fight over what counts as an "act of God"?

Told a buddy of mine about this exact thing last month. He owns a landscaping company and had a contract that said "act of God" but their supplier got washed out by a flash flood. The customer still tried to hold him to the timeline and he ended up eating the cost of the delay. @rowanr88 nailed it when they said weather often doesn't count. It's wild to me how many contracts leave normal weather events out of the force majeure. My buddy spent a whole weekend rewriting his contracts with a lawyer friend to list specific things like "extreme cold," "heavy snow," and "flooding." He sleeps better now but still says half his clients try to argue the lawyer's wording is too vague.
