Just figured out that cooperative games stop my kids from bickering. They start working together to beat the game instead of each other. It's a game changer for family nights.

Scrap fabric is the only way I'll bind books anymore

I bought new book cloth for years without a second thought. Then I helped clean out a textile recycling bin. The amount of perfect fabric thrown out shocked me. Now I only use donated scraps and old linens. My bindings have more character and I'm not adding to landfill waste.

That shop vac trick is a lifesaver for cold conduit. I read a forum post once where a guy used the same method with a foam earplug tied to a pull string instead of a bag. It works on the same principle and can be even less likely to snag.

That price is totally normal now, honestly. Feels like everything is a subscription or a day pass these days. Coffee shops want you to buy something every hour if you camp out. So fifty bucks for a desk, wifi, and coffee all day? They've done the math. It's the cost of a quiet spot where no one will bother you. Sometimes that's worth it when you really need to focus.
