Had to pick between a 10k estimate or doing it myself. Regretting it 3 weeks later.
Old rental property in Tulsa needed a new sewer line. Plumber quoted 10,400 to trench and replace. I figured I could rent a mini excavator for 400 bucks and save the rest. Three weeks in, I've hit a gas line (called 811, still my fault), it's rained four days, and the ditch keeps caving in. I'm about 6 feet short of the hookup point and my back is shot. Anyone else ever take the DIY route on a job they knew they should have subbed out? How much extra did it end up costing you?
