Just saw a guy using a 4 foot pipe as a cheater bar on a Harbor Freight breaker bar and something clicked
I was helping my buddy pull the front hub off his old F-250 in his driveway in Reno last Saturday and his neighbor wandered over with a 4 foot galvanized pipe. He slid it right over the breaker bar handle and said the bar was rated for 150 ft lbs but the nut needed 300. I backed up because I figured that bar was gonna snap, and it just popped the nut loose like nothing. Now I'm sitting here wondering why I've been fighting stubborn bolts with my whole body weight when a $12 piece of pipe does the job. Does anyone here actually keep a cheater bar around, or do you all just buy the big dog 3/4 inch stuff instead?
