Observing the shift from manual to laser measures on job sites
Laser measures are fast, but tape measures don't need batteries, so which do you prefer?

Would you believe I used to swear by tapes until my laser saved me from dead batteries?

Had a laser die mid measure last week. Totally get Abby's point. Nothing worse than scrambling for batteries when a tape just works.

My Bosch laser conked out right as I was trying to square up a cabinet install. That frantic search for a spare triple-A battery while holding a door in place is the worst. I keep a tape on my belt now as a backup, no matter what. The laser is great until it just decides it's done for the day.
