Switched from a jigsaw to a circular saw for deck planks and wow what a difference

I was using my old jigsaw to cut pressure treated 2x6s for a deck job in Portland last month and it took forever. Finally picked up a DeWalt 20V circular saw and I cut through 20 planks in like 15 minutes flat. Anyone else make a similar switch and find it way faster?

Are you counting your time actually cutting or from the moment you picked up the first board to stacking the last one? Because I find those battery saws bog down in wet PT lumber if you push too hard and then you're fighting it. Did you use a fresh blade or the one it came with?

Honestly, I gotta say that's a solid upgrade but your times seem off. A jigsaw on a 2x6 would take forever but even a decent circular saw isn't that fast for a full deck. I've run a 20V DeWalt on PT lumber and 20 planks in 15 minutes means like 45 seconds a cut including measuring and moving. That's skipping proper layout and safety checks. Might want to double check your math unless you're just counting pure blade time. Still though, night and day difference between those tools.
