Oh totally, I've actually gone back to some of those little tweaks and they ended up being way more useful than I expected. Like, one time I adjusted the temperature on my fridge by just one notch (it was always too cold in there) and it actually stopped the lettuce from freezing. Another was changing the angle of my desk lamp to cut down on glare - simple thing but it made a huge difference for my eyes. I think we sometimes overlook these tiny fixes because they seem too small to matter. But honestly, they add up more than you'd think.

inThat moment a shutter spring flew into my coffee cup
Man, that's brutal. I had the exact same thing happen with a tiny screw from a lens mount on an old Nikon FE. It bounced off my workbench and landed right in a glass of orange juice I had sitting there. I just stared at it for a few seconds, then fished it out with a chopstick. Rinsed it with isopropyl alcohol, dried it with a hair dryer, and it threaded right back in with no issues. So yeah, as long as you dry it fully, it usually works again. Faithpatel mentioned beer, which I guess would be fine too if you don't have alcohol handy. Just make sure nothing is sticky after you clean it.

inIs the 2% salt rule really the gold standard? Hit 3.5% by accident and my kraut came out way better
3% killed the lactobacillus activity in my last batch.

inPSA: I spent 3 years watering my garden at noon before a neighbor stopped me
Man, that's rough but I'm glad you found out before you wasted another season. I had a neighbor tell me I was planting my tomatoes way too deep, felt like a total goof but saved my whole crop.
