That sparky in Boise said my torque wrench was overkill, he was dead wrong
After 2 months of failing electrical inspections on the same job, I finally ran an old torque wrench test against my new digital one and found a 22% difference, so I rechecked every lug I'd torqued since March and found 3 loose connections that would've started a fire, has anyone else trusted an old click wrench past its calibration date?

I mean, are we really gonna pretend every homeowner with a Harbor Freight special is out here torquing lugs to spec? Most guys I know just crank it till it feels right and call it a day. That 22% difference sounds bad, but maybe your old wrench was also fine for most of those connections and you just got unlucky with a few. Real talk, if you were passing inspections before and only failed after two months, something else probably changed on that job site too.
