Vent: My Makita cordless framing nailer jammed on a simple roof job
It was a basic sheathing job in Sacramento last Tuesday, and the gun just stopped driving nails flush. I spent over two hours taking it apart, cleaning it, checking the magazine spring, the whole deal. Everyone online says these things are bulletproof, but mine just would not feed right. Ended up finishing the day with my old pneumatic gun. Has anyone else had a similar jam issue with the newer cordless framers?

Ugh, that's the worst! It feels like the more "advanced" stuff gets, the more it fails at basic tasks. Why does that keep happening with everything now?

Bulletproof" is what they always say, right? My Makita cordless brad nailer once jammed so bad on some trim that I had to use a hammer to tap the nails the rest of the way in. Felt like I'd gone back to the stone age. There's nothing like a fancy tool failing on a simple job to keep you humble.

My old Paslode gas nailer never jammed, but it weighed a ton. Sometimes simple is better.
