Everyone in the freelance groups says just pull a standard contract off Google and send it, and I did that for years. Then a $6,000 design job out of Denver went sideways and the copy I downloaded from some blog had no clause about who owns the files if the deal falls apart. I paid a lawyer in Boulder $180 for a 30 minute review and she found four gaps I never would have caught. Has anyone else paid for a real review and felt it was money down the drain, or was it the opposite for you?
