Rant: Why I stopped using toner before every color service
A month ago at my station in Portland, I prepped a client with toner like I was trained, then the color came out patchy and dull. I skipped the toner on the next touch-up, same formula, and it was perfectly even. Anyone else find that extra step messes with the deposit more than it helps?
Tbh I always did the toner step because that's what I was taught, but now you've got me thinking it might have been messing with my color this whole time. Honestly the patchy results you got sound way too familiar.
