Guy at my coworking desk in Portland asked why I book the same corner spot every day, and his reason made me switch to the open tables
I have been renting a dedicated desk at a coworking spot in Portland for about 8 months now, always the same corner one by the window. A guy who sits two desks over asked me why I never move, and when I said it helps me focus, he pointed out that I had turned down three separate invites to the Friday lunch crew because I did not want to leave my stuff. That one hit me. So I tried the open tables for two weeks, and I ended up grabbing coffee with a designer who passed me a $400 logo gig. My old corner was comfy but it was basically a cave. Now I rotate spots every few days and I have met like 6 new people. Anyone else get weirdly attached to one desk and miss out on the room?
