The difference in my work week after joining a real coworking spot
I worked from my apartment for two years and felt totally stuck. Then I signed up for a monthly pass at The Hive in Austin last month. Just having other people around who are also working on their own stuff changed my whole focus and I'm getting way more done. Has anyone else found a specific spot that actually made them more productive?

Honestly, is it the spot itself or just the fact you left your apartment? Tbh I tried a coworking space for a week and it felt the same as a library but way more expensive. Ngl the change probably helped you more than the specific place. I feel like people just need a reason to get dressed and go somewhere, any somewhere. Paying for it might make you feel like you have to use it, that's all.

Logan271 nailed it with the gym membership comparison. I bought a fancy coffee shop punch card last month just to force myself out of bed before noon. Turns out their coffee is terrible, but my sleep schedule is fixed now. The shame of wasting money is a powerful motivator.

Paying for it might make you feel like you have to use it" is the real truth. It's like buying a gym membership just to feel guilty enough to finally go. The money is the only trainer some of us will ever have.
