A guy at my credit union in Dayton told me to stop paying my smallest card first and it stung
He pulled up my accounts, pointed at the $340 balance on my store card with the 26% rate and said "you're paying the cheap one to feel good," so now I'm throwing everything at the high rate first, and I'm wondering if anyone else had to hear it from a stranger before it clicked.
Read a thing once that said paying the smallest balance first only works if the rates are close. Sounds like yours weren't even close, so the guy had a point.
