Stopped using password managers after 3 years

I used LastPass for 3 years straight. Then that breach in 2022 made me rethink everything when I saw my vault data was exposed. What do you use instead that feels safe?

The grass isn't greener" is exactly what my buddy said after he switched from LastPass to Dashlane and then back again lmao. Dude spent a whole weekend migrating passwords only to realize Dashlane's autofill sucked on half his sites.

Same thing happened to me actually. Ditched LastPass after that 2022 breach and went straight to Bitwarden because it was open source and supposedly safer. Then last year when Bitwarden had that vulnerability in the browser extension I felt like a fool. Made me realize you can't run from these problems, all password managers have their issues somewhere. So I actually went back to LastPass about 4 months ago. Their security has tightened up a lot since the breach and honestly the convenience factor won me back. The grass isn't greener on the other side.

Stick with LastPass actually. The breach was bad but their security has improved since then, and no system is 100% hackproof anyway. Password managers beat reusing weak passwords across sites every single time. Switching to a new manager just means learning another system and praying they never have a breach either. Bitwarden had that incident in 2023, and even Apple's keychain had security researchers find bugs in it. You're trading one set of risks for another, and LastPass is still one of the most user-friendly options out there.
