TIL the free USB stick I got at a Columbus, Ohio trade show 4 months ago was just a scam, not malware
Plugged it into my old laptop with no wifi, and it opened a fake invoice PDF asking me to log into a payroll site with my work email, which a buddy at the shop says is a whole phishing trick I'd missed, so is there anything else besides tossing it that I should do with it?

That Columbus stick likely came from a booth cloning company, so report the payroll URL to your IT folks.
