Two-factor text codes keep getting intercepted in my area, is SMS dead?
Last month I read a report from a local security firm in Reno that showed SIM swapping attacks jumped 80% in 2024, and it made me wonder if we're all leaning on a broken system. Some folks say authenticator apps are the only safe route, others swear SMS is still fine for personal accounts. Which side are you on, and has anyone actually had a text code stolen firsthand?

That Reno report probably missed the real number, SIM swapping is way worse than 80% in most spots.
