Warning: My tablet corrupted a 6-layer PSD at 2am and I had to rebuild from a flat JPEG
I was finishing a commission at my kitchen table in Boise last Tuesday when my tablet app crashed and the PSD came back missing layers 3 through 6, leaving me with a flattened preview I'd texted the buyer. Instead of panicking, I pulled that JPEG into a new file and hand-painted the missing shading back over 4 hours, then started saving numbered versions every 20 minutes to an external drive. Why do so many artists in this group push back on versioned saves like it's some kind of insult to their workflow?
