Rented a desk in Medellin instead of a coworking pass, regret it
I paid $250 for a month at that fancy shared office in El Poblado, then my Airbnb wifi died for 3 days and I couldn't work anyway. The desk was quiet but I missed the meetups, has anyone else picked the cheaper option and lost out on networking?.

Networking is the real product at those places, the desk is just the excuse. People grab coffee at the same time daily, that's where the random gigs and intros happen. Cheap solo setups save money but cost you the luck that a good community brings.

Ha, yeah, my friend basically paid coworking rent for six months just to overhear someone mention a contract she ended up landing. The desk was a total dump, but the random hallway chat was worth every penny. I still work from my kitchen, but I get why people treat that place like a lottery ticket.
